MEST Host DevCongress 2013

Tech conference for developers,DevCongress, took place on Saturday, August 24, at Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology, MEST.

DevCongress is a budding developers movement aimed at becoming the most vibrant across the software developers space in Ghana and Africa.

At this year’s congress, participants focused on two key areas of discussion namely cashless payment systems in Ghana and the way forward. This discussion was very informative and participants had lots of interest in it, hence raised couple of questions.
Other presentations were: Golang Nuts by Davis Abubakr-Sadik, Improving Agriculture: The Role of Technology and Software, Mark Davis, Esoko Limited, and Bitcoins and Developers by Mawuli Kofi Obuntu.

Even Though the congress was meant for developers and many had thought was going to be ‘boring’, it was rather the opposite. The congress was educative, interactive and fun.

On the lighter side, Mawuli Kofi Obuntu, ‘Mr Bitcoins’, made more than half of the participants (through his presentation) dreamt of being billionaires through the virtual currency platform, Bitcoins.

Blogging Ghana participated in this congress, as part of its Innovation Ghana project. The innovation Ghana project is in partnership with Google Ghana and Ministry of Trade and Industry.
